What is BARKtoberfest Owasso?
BARKtoberfest Owasso is a community event to support Municipal Animal Shelters and celebrate 'Adopt a Shelter Dog' month. Each October, members of the community plan the event that offers an opportunity for everyone to meet local animal rescue groups and businesses. Our goal is to improve the event each year by bringing in vendors that provide pet services and be available to answer your questions. In 2016, Earthborn Holistic Pet Foods joined Barktoberfest and was able to provide information about their food (provided free samples) and how their product compares to other brands. Moving to a new location with additional space and parking, will enable us to invite more pet food and other companies to participate.
Veterinarians volunteer their time and discount services to promote healthy and safe pets. Vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing and toe nail trimming are normally available each year.
BARKtoberfest is a FREE event for the community, but we need to raise $2,000 in order to present BARKtoberfest. This money covers tents for vets, advertising, cleanup items, etc.
