CAARE, Inc.

About
Community Animal Assistance, Rehoming and Education
Mission
Enriching lives through helping disadvantaged families and pets stay together.
Company Overview
Our focus in on pet retention. Keeping families and pets together.

Many pets are surrendered to shelters because their owners have a life changing event that may temporarily prevent them from being able to care for their pets. A loss of a job, an illness, natural disaster and more. Many times families just need a little help until they get back on their feet. When there are children in the family, this is very heartbreaking. Studies have shown how important pets are in a child's life/development and having to loose their beloved pet because of something like this, brings tears to anyones eyes.

CAARE will be the helping hand to keep families and pets together and help enrich the lives of these families. We will help with food, veterinary expenses and fostering depending on the need. But we cannot do this alone. We need support from the community to make this happen.

In the coming weeks, CAARE will provide information on how you can help your neighbors and community.

WAGS (Wagoner Animal Guardian Society)

About
WAGS is dedicated to preventing the suffering of homeless companion animals through public education, adoption, and spay/neuter programs.
Mission
Wagoner Animal Guardian Society (WAGS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of the suffering of homeless companion animals and to the reduction of pet overpopulation through public education, adoption, foster homes, & spay/neuter programs.

We locate adoptive homes for homeless and/or abandoned cats and dogs, puppies and kittens.

We seek to place these homeless pets in temporary foster homes until permanent, loving homes become available.

We provide supportive health care, vaccinations, and low cost spay/neuter prior to adopting animals.

WAGS has no facilities at this time to house animals and must rely on foster care. This allows us to only accept selected animals on a space available basis. Our long term goal is to have a shelter facility, capable of providing complete services to rural Wagoner County.

WAGS does not provide capture or pick-up services.

WAGS is dedicated to preventing the suffering of homeless companion animals through public education, adoption, and spay/neuter programs.

WCSPCA (Washington County SPCA)

About
If you have lost or found a pet - please email us at: Lost@wcspca.org. We will post pictures and information on this page.
Mission
We serve the animals, citizens and communities of Washington County by:

1. Providing shelter and medical care for stray, abandoned or surrendered animals in our county:

2. Responding with personal commitment, humane sensitivity, compassion, and technical skill to the needs of these animals.

3. Actively promoting suitable adoptions of the animals.

4. Encouraging the spaying and neutering of dogs and cats through the Washington County SPCA programs: GCSNAP (GCSNAP sponsored monthly It's Hip to Snip clinics) and Alley Cat Alliance, to ensure the animal overpopulation problem be kept to a minimum; and

5. Helping to prevent cruelty to animals by promoting education in the community.

Company Overview
The Washington County SPCA (WCSPCA) is an open access shelter whose mission is to protect the welfare of the animals we come in contact with, and to promote the humane treatment and well being of these animals.
Description
Spurred by a local case of egregious cruelty, the Washington County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (WCSPCA) was incorporated in 1965. An animal shelter was built and the new organization undertook projects to educate the public on companion animal issues. In 1974 the WCSPCA contracted to care for animals impounded by the City of Bartlesville. In so doing, the number of animals served increased substantially.

Currently we are comprised of two operations: Impound and adoptions/services. The Impound facility (part of 1 building) serves the Cities of Bartlesville, Ochelata and Copan. The impound facility houses all dogs or cats found in these three Cities with which we have contracts. Every year the WCSPCA agrees to provide shelter, and care (along with initial vaccinations) for 'at-large' animals brought to us by City Animal Control Officers and private citizens.

The Washington County SPCA Adoption/Services facilities are comprised of 3 buildings and 2 mobile trailers. The Adoption facilities and all the community service programs associated with our organization (GCSNAP, Alley Cat, etc) are funded solely by grants and public donations. We are neither a part of, nor supported by, any State or Federal contributions.

In the summer of 2007 our shelter was almost completely submerged by flood waters. After we were over the initial shock of the utter devastation of our facilities, the Board of Directors voted to find higher ground and build a new facility. By early summer of 2008, that perfect location was spotted. It was approximately 10 acres. It fronted onto Highway 75 and was located in the primary growth area of Bartlesville. Our first goal was complete. We had found higher ground.

The land was granted a special permit by the Washington County Board of Adjustments and the WCSPCA contracted with Animal Arts Design Studios of Boulder, Colorado to design a floor plan and a site plan for the new shelter. These plans were complete in July of 2009. In the future, Scott Ambler - of Ambler Architects will be working hand in hand with the Design committee and Animal Arts Design Studios to develop construction drawings.

Lab Rescue

About
Recycle Love- Adopt a Labrador!
Company Overview
Lab Rescue Ok, Inc. was formed in 1999 by one very dedicated individual. Since that time Lab Rescue Ok, Inc. became incorporated in 2001 and gained its 501 c(3) status in 2003. Since its inception, we have rescued and found loving, forever homes for over 2,000 Labradors in Tulsa and the surrounding areas. We have been able to do this because of the dedication and love from our volunteers, foster families, local animal rescue advocates, and those that are willing to open their hearts and homes to a rescued lab.
General Information
Lab Rescue (LR) allows postings from other groups on our Facebook page. However, we are not affiliated with these shelters/rescues and cannot guarantee the condition of any dog that you may adopt. LR is limited in the number of dogs we can save by the number of fosters that we have. Volunteering with our organization is one way to save the lives of more Labbies.

Mission
Our mission is to function as a no-kill organization which is dedicated to all animal rescue, providing safe haven, rehabilitation and veterinary care for abandoned, injured, lost, neglected or abused animals and then placing them into responsible and stable homes. We strive to help stop the hurt by ending the cycle of abuse, ignorance and pet overpopulation through low-cost spay/neuter and educational programs. Further, we strive to improve the lives of people through bonding with pets.
Company Overview
Zoi's Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all-breed animal rescue group that is based in Claremore, OK.

Although founded in 2005, the seed was planted several years before when Mike and Debbie Stellas rescued two lab puppies from euthanization. They both had severe mange and the female had a birth defect which made her left front leg deformed. They were named Zeke and Zoi (Zoi in greek means "life".) Because of Zeke and Zoi, Debbie and Mike decided to start Zoi's Animal Rescue. Since 2005, ZAR has rescued and adopted out over1000 dogs and cats.
Description
Zoi's Animal Rescue
General Information
Zoi's Animal Rescue is a rescue group and therefore we do not have a facility to house and show our animals. We rely on foster homes (and sometimes boarding) to shelter our animals. We show a selection of our animals almost every week at a handful of locations in the Tulsa and Owasso area. Our event schedule on our website is the best way to find out where we will be.
